Profcon Resort and Caravan Park is located in the centre of the town of Graaf Reinet, in the Eastern Cape. The campsite is located 666 kms from Cape Town and the drive will take you approximately 6h45m. and approximately 262kms from Port Elizabeth with a drive time of 2h38m. Access from Cape Town is via the N1 and the R61 and directly from the R75 (which becomes the R63) from Port Elizabeth. The resort is located on Somerset Street in the middle of the town.
All the major roads into and out of the town of Graaf Reinet, as well is within the town itself, are tarred. The road to the resort is tarred.
There are 8 camping and caravan sites on the resort. The sites are well demarcated and neatly arranged. The sites are flat with ample grass and some shade.
Each campsite has its own electricity connection for a standard three pronged plug. The plug points are located close at hand, so extension cords are not required. There are also lights at each camp site.
The ablution facilities consist of separate mens and ladies cubicles consisting of a toilet, basin and shower. The is hot water in each bathroom is supplied by an electric geyser, so hot water is guaranteed throughout the day. The ablutions are always kept neat and clean. Toilet paper and hand soap are supplied.
Each site has its own upright brick braai and comes supplied with its own braai grid. Wood can be purchased at reception.
There is a full scullery at the camp site with a large double basin and ample hot water.
Each camp site has access to its own tap and the water is drinkable.
Each site has its own bin which is cleaned out regularly.
The campsite is located within the town of Graaf Reinet and is walking distance from many amenities, like shops and restaurants.
Graaf Reinet is the fourth oldest town in South Africa, so it's worthwhile taking a walk around the town to see the historical buildings and to pop into a few art galleries and museums.

There is a lovely communal area under a large boma where campers can get together and swap stories.

This resort is a children's paradise. There is so much here to keep the little ones entertained. The jungle gym and trampoline, the bicycle track and zip line, even a putt-putt course will definitely keep them busy. During the holiday season, the management even puts up a jumping castle for the kids. And there is also plenty for the adults to do. The resort is within the town, so there is ample opportunity to take in the history and culture of this lovely old town. There is also a pub for the adults. The resort also has many chalets and self catering accommodation, so should you want to take a break from sleeping under canvas, there are other options. The campsite itself is beautifully laid out and very neat. This resort is great for those that are travelling through the town onto further destinations, but it is also worth your while to spend a couple of days here and exploring this lovely town.
