Langdam Guest Farm
Western Cape - Koo Valley- Montagu
Langdam Guest Farm is located approximately half way between the towns of de Doorns and Montagu in the Koo Valley, nestled between the two mountain ranges. The camp site can be easily accessed from Cape Town via the N1 and the R318 via de Doorns (204 kms). The estimated travel time from Cape Town is 2h23m. Take the N1 through the du Toits Kloof tunnel and travel through de Doorns on the way to Touws River. Turn right onto the R318 towards Montagu. Travel for another 5kms and then turn right. The camp sites will be on your left after 180m.
The N1 from Cape Town to Touws River/de Doorns is tarred. The R318 is a gravel road to the camp site in a good condition and can be navigated with a standard SUV. Also, the gravel road portion is only 5kma or so long, so this shouldn't be a problem for any vehicle.
The camp site has 10 stands , which are clearly demarcated with a wooden fence and offer a relatively high degree of privacy. Each site has its own tent, which has already been erected for you. The tents have space for a two people, either with a double bed or two single beds. There is a canvas room over the front portion of the tent, creating a verandah. The entire camp site is grassed and there are trees affording shade.
Each site has its own electricity connection with a standard plug.
There is a communal ablution facility for all the campsites. The hot water to the bathrooms is supplied by gas geysers, so there is ample hot water to go around. The ablutions are always kept neat and clean. Toilet paper is supplied, just bring some soap.
Each site has a lovely stone braai and the braai grid is supplied. Please bring your own wood..
Bins are provided on the campsites, and separation of recyclable materials is encouraged.
There is a communal water tap for use by all campers, and the water is drinkable.
There is a scullery with hot water for washing up purposes,
The tens are pre-built so there is no need for setting up.
Each tent has it's own proper bed, linen and towels.

The campsite is surrounded by beautiful mountains and the views are spectacular. Each site has been thoughtfully laid out with rustic wooden fences separating each site. The interior is beautifully decorated with luxurious linen and blankets. The colour scheme in each tent is earthy and warm, ensuring that each camper immediately feels welcome and relaxed. . The best part of camping at Langdam is the fact that you won't need to carry all your camping gear with you and then spend hours setting everything up. All the heavy lifting and hard work has been done for you. All you need to do is arrive, unpack your clothes and food and proceed to enjoying your holiday. And you still have the experience of sleeping under canvas. As Kirsten explained to me, this site is intended for "Easy Camping" for those that don't want to leave their luxuries behind.
