Imhoff Caravan Park is located just outside the town of Kommetjie in the deep south of the Cape Peninsula. It is a mere 34 Kms away from Cape Town.
There are 75 camping stands at this resort. all are level and grassed. 15 of these sites have concrete slabs specifically for caravans. Each of the stands are seperated by large trees, bushes and fynbos, giving lovely privacy. On our last visit here, there were a lot of devil thorns on the site, so make sure you keep your plakkies handy.
Each stand has it’s own electrical point with 15amp sockets.
There is are a number of communal ablution blocks, with basins and showers. The bathrooms are sparce and old fashioned, but are ket clean on a regular basis.
There are communal kitchen areas for washing your dishes and there are freezers at your disposal to keep your goodies cold. They advertise that there are also ironing boards available to the campers, but I was unable to locate these. Perhaps a request at reception could have resolved this. We suggest you bring your own drying racks.
Each site has its own built in braai, but you will need to bring your own braai grid.
The entire resort is fenced and there is a guard that patrols the resort.
There is a lovely playground n site for the kids.
There is a communal games room with table tennis tables, pool tables and a TV room with selected DSTV channels.
The beach is located a mere 150m from the campsite.
The renowned surfing beach of Longbeach is right on your doorstep.
It is a lovely walk to the Kakapo shipwreck, and with a bit more of a walk, you can even walk all the way to the end of Noorhoek beach too. (Please be advised however, that there have been numerous reports of muggings on the beach in the news of late, so please be vigilant and always walk as a group).
There is a small tuck shop on site which is great for buying ice creams for the kids.
The roads within the resort are all tarred, so bring the bicycles for the kids along.
The roads to the resort, and within the resort are all tarred.
This campsite is ideal for a quick break from the city.
Kommetjie is a surfers paradise so be prepared to spend a lot of time on the beaches.
The sites are set well back from the beach, so there is a lot of protection from the wind.
There are a lot of amenities and activities that that be accessed a short distance from the camp site, if you would like to escape from the beach for the day. The quaint and peaceful town of Kommetjie is walking distance away from the site. Imhoffs Gift, a mere 5kms away, will enthrall you with their country charm, restaurants and shops. You can even ride a camel, visit the snake park or find your way out of a maze. The Longbeach shopping mall is also a short drive away and you'll be able to stock up on everything you need.

We have visited this resort twice through an organised church camp for one night each time. The children had a wonderful time and disappeared for long stretches at a time. Our time at the resort was very limited and we had hardly any time to explore.
